Our own reporting platform. The same numbers from the same data model, in an environment carrying your own name and logo, with no per-user licence. Reporting and master-data management in one environment. What it is, when it fits and what it costs is all below.

What is the Customer Reporting Platform?

The Customer Reporting Platform is the web environment where we deliver
reporting outside Power BI. You sign in at an address carrying your own name, you
see your logo and your colours and you open the same reporting on your phone
as at your desk.

Nothing changes about how we work. The platform calculates nothing itself. It
reads the numbers from the same top layer of the
data model a Power BI report would read and shows
them.

It is live at several clients. A car business follows sales, stock, days in stock
and margin in it. An investment group consolidates its holdings in it, with
profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, in English. Every environment
looks different, because the reporting follows the business rather than a
template.

When does this fit you?

You want to share the reporting with a lot of users. Power BI is charged per
user per month. At a hundred readers that runs into thousands a year before a
single report has been built.
The readers sit outside your own organisation. Franchisees, site
managers, suppliers, holdings. People you do not want to issue an account in
your own environment.
People look at whichever screen is to hand. The platform is optimised for
every screen: phone, tablet, laptop and the large one in the meeting room.
Every change is checked at all available sizes before it goes live.
You want to centralise reporting and master-data management in one application. A report only
shows. Here the people who know the content keep their own mappings, rates or budgets up
to date and those flow into the numbers.
Loose spreadsheets are going round for transactions and master data.
Budgets, rates, mappings, correction entries. Files somebody mails around
where nobody is sure which version is the current one. Those move into the
platform, with a template to upload and a check before anything lands.
You want to put AI on your own numbers. Everything the screen can do, a
connection can do. An AI assistant reads for itself how your environment is
put together, runs analysis on the numbers and updates master data, inside
the same controls a person works within.
You want to decide who can reach it. On top of signing in, you can
restrict the platform to the networks you know. To the rest of the internet the
platform is invisible.

What you can do with it

Ask the next question yourself, without ringing anyone
Filter by year,
site, brand or customer and the screen moves with you. You ask the follow-up
while you are still looking at the answer, without having to note anything
down for the next meeting.
From any amount to the rows underneath
Click a KPI, a line in the
statement or a cell in a matrix and the transactions it is built from
appear. Nobody has to email to ask where a figure came from.
Everything out to Excel
Every page, every statement and every
drill-through comes out as Excel or PDF, summarised or down to ledger-account
level. If you want to check something yourself or put your own pivot on it,
it comes with you into your own file.
Keep your own data current without us
Budgets, rates, mappings:
whatever you decide yourselves, you maintain on screen. You pick from values
the data already knows, so nothing goes in that breaks later and next time
you look it is in the numbers.
Load a year of data in one go
Download the Excel template, fill it and
upload it. You see what changes and what is new before anything lands and it
only goes in once you approve. A set of budget lines becomes fifteen minutes of
work rather than a request to us.
Everyone looks at the same numbers
The board, the site managers and the
controller open the same reporting with the same definitions. Per person you
set who has access and who may change anything.

The numbers stay yours

The platform calculates nothing itself. Every calculation, every definition and
every margin sits in the data model; the platform only reads it and draws it.

That is not a technical detail. It is why you are never locked in. Point Power
BI at it tomorrow and it reads the same model and produces the same numbers.
The model, the definitions and the documentation sit in your environment, with
a separate database per client. The platform is how we show it, not where it
lives.

What it costs

The engagement costs the same. A business data model with reporting in this
platform is the same work as a business data model with reporting in Power BI
and falls in the same size. What an engagement costs

The difference is in the external costs. With Power BI you pay user licences,
currently around €12 per user per month from Microsoft. Here you pay for a
server. That cost does not climb with the number of readers, so the more people
looking at it, the larger the difference.

You settle the server directly with the supplier. We
work it through with you up front and put it in the quote.
