Automating the company data
Extending the Fleetcompass accounting system started a new phase of digitalisation. In practice, though, the insight coming out of that system still had to be processed by hand. That meant more work, and it meant Fleetcompass was not always working from the most current figures. Good insight depends on the data being current.
Working with Fleetcompass, AmbitionBI took a number of steps to renew that process:
- Unlocking the data: the accounting system holds the current data and is therefore the main source. A connection between the accounting system and Power BI makes it possible to pull and refresh that data continuously;
- Setting the requirements: the dashboard requirements were established with Fleetcompass as the work progressed, turning their wishes and needs into concrete KPIs;
- Financial dashboard: using the financial data from the accounting system, a bespoke dashboard was then built against those requirements. It has three parts:
- Fleetcompass results: ledger entries, revenue, costs and so on;
- Customer data: number of new relationships, revenue per relationship and so on;
- Key figures.
Business intelligence as the guide for change
Using Power BI, AmbitionBI developed an effective and visually appealing dashboard. Charts, diagrams and colour coding make the information easy to read and quick to act on. Fleetcompass can now work from the right, real time data at every level of the organisation.
